Activities
Volunteers at the Maison Des Talibés can choose among several activities to support our work.
Medical Support
Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 10:30 to 14:00, we visit several daaras in Saint Louis to give basic medical treatment to talibés, such as disinfecting and covering up wounds. Volunteers can either choose to help directly or provide assistance. More serious cases are referred to the hospital.
Teaching
On Thursdays and Fridays, we provide lessons to the talibés to ensure they learn subjects other than the Quran. Most volunteers decide to teach English, but based on your expertise, you can also opt for other fields, such as French, mathematics, and more.
Raising Awareness
Volunteers are encouraged to organize events to raise awareness regarding the poor conditions of the talibés, such as seminars and meetings with marabous and local as well as international organizations.
Social Media
Are you a social media expert? We are always looking for people to help us grow our social media presence, whether through professional pictures of our volunteers at work, intriguing posts, or other means.
