Mamadou Ba

He founded the Maison Des Talibés in 2023 to provide a brighter future for many talibés children studying in the Quranic schools of Saint Louis. As a former talibé himself, Mamadou knows better than anyone else the daily struggles these children face. If you had visited Senegal back in 2006, you might have seen him barefoot, carrying a plastic bucket, begging on the streets of Sokone. Like many talibés, upon completing his studies, Mamadou was left with one career path: founding his own Quranic school. Instead, he chose the difficult path and self-learned English to find more ethical job opportunities. In 2018, he began teaching English to local talibés, both independently and with various organizations, to broaden their career prospects. Today, Mamadou’s efforts extend beyond teaching English. He provides medical care together with his organization, plans events to raise awareness, and continues to grow his association in the hope of extending his positive influence to reach as many talibés as possible.

Abdou Jallow

Originally from Gambia, Abdou Jallow crossed paths with Mamadou back in 2022 on a trip to Saint Louis. The following year, they founded the Maison Des Talibés together to empower local children and help them achieve all their dreams without limitations.
Today, Abdou is the creative force behind the Maison Des Talibés social media platforms, curating its Instagram and Facebook pages. When his busy schedule allows him, Abdou also helps Mamadou with other activities, such as caring for local talibés, by bringing medical care and organizing further activities.

Abibou Dieye Fall

Originally from Saint Louis, Abibou Dieye Fall is one of the three main founders of the Maison Des Talibés and is the medical expert of the association. Abibou works as an ER nurse at the Hospital Ousmane Ngom and since 2016 has dedicated his free time to bring medical aid to the talibés living in his city.
He also coordinated several care and hygiene activities in local Quranic schools to improve the often poor hygiene conditions typical of these sites, preventing the spread of diseases and infections. Today, Abibou serves as the medical expert of the Maison Des Talibés and is always ready to provide his valuable expertise whenever emergency occurs.
